He’s out

Standard

We put our 18yr old out of the house today.  It was something that needed to be done.  I’m not sure where he will be sleeping from now on and as a mom that’s really hard.  At some point you have to draw the line and we drew it today.  No more blatant disrespect and fuckery.  I’ve prayed on it and I hope that God takes care of him while he’s on his journey.

  1. You aren’t the first Parent to do it of course, and you might be surprised at the results. Reality has a way of smacking a young man in the face.

At some point, they all have to grow up.

  2. Thanx Terry. I’m praying that he is able to hold his own. I don’t want him to fail. He told us he kept doing stupid shit because he really didn’t believe we would put him out. I’m sad and scared but I know we did the right thing. He’s welcome to come back home when he can abide by the rules.

  3. You probably have done the very best thing you could have for him. I *wish* more parents would make their children face reality instead of reinforcing their poor choices by tolerating them because when a parent does, it teaches the lesson that the poor choices will be accepted, and thus, no consequences.

He’ll be alright because you raised him right. You’ll be surprised how he falls back on the lessons you taught him when he has no choice but to. Right now, he sees abiding by the rules as optional.

You still good for lettin him come back when he gets it together… I was a “good girl” and went away to college, etc. My mom made me clean out my room when I went away and any vacations I came home, I had to pay rent. She wanted to teach me to stand on my own. I guess it worked!
